How to Set Up Your Phantom Wallet

Choose your preferred method below.
Method 1 is easiest and fastest.
Method 2 is for full self-custody users.

⭐ Method 1: Seedless Wallet (Google or Apple Login)

Fastest and easiest — recommended for beginners

1. Download the App

Go to phantom.com/download and install the mobile app or the browser extension.

2. Start Wallet Creation

Open Phantom and select “Create a new wallet.”

3. Choose Google or Apple Login

Tap “Continue with Email”, then choose:

  • Continue with Apple, or

  • Continue with Google

Follow the on-screen steps to link your account.

4. Set a PIN

Create a 4-digit PIN.
This is required for recovering your wallet on a new device.

5. Enable Device Authentication

Turn on:

  • Face ID

  • Fingerprint

  • Device Passcode

This makes accessing your wallet faster and more secure.

6. Create a Username (Optional)

Pick a simple username so others can send you crypto easily.

Method 2: Seed Phrase Wallet (Full Self-Custody)

Best for advanced users who want full control of their keys

1. Download & Install

Install the Phantom app or extension from the official site or app store.

2. Start Wallet Creation

Open Phantom → click “Create a new wallet.”

3. Select the Seed Phrase Option

Choose the method that generates a seed phrase (also called a Secret Recovery Phrase).

4. Save Your Seed Phrase

Phantom generates a 12-word recovery phrase.
You must write it down on paper and store it offline.

  • Save in Notes

  • Store on cloud services

This phrase controls your wallet.

5. Confirm Your Phrase

Phantom will ask you to re-enter words to verify that you saved them correctly.

6. Create a Password

Set a strong password for accessing the wallet on your device.

7. Create a Username (Optional)

Choose a username to make receiving funds simpler.
